What is Tumescent Liposuction?

Tumescent is a particular technique that incorporates a combination of vasoconstrictive and anesthetic medications with a fluid ballooning technique. The technique effectively reduces bruising and increases safety. Liposuction is effective removal of excess fat through a small canula tube that is attached to a suction device. A network of tunnels is created beneath the skin in a precise manner and the canula is effectively inserted and suctions out the unwanted fat. An artistic recontouring and sculpting of the specific area or areas is performed and the end result is a significantly re-sculpted contour that improves the overall aesthetic appearance of the undersurface of the chin region, face, and neck areas.

The Procedure Liposuction generally is done under IV sedation or general anesthesia. The tumescent technique is also employed and this shrinks the capillaries to minimize the bruising and effectively assist in the removal of fat. Small incisions are created behind the ear lobule and also in the submental crease just below the chin. These incisions hide well and scarring is minimal.
